Supporting Shipyards

When the design is made with the shipyard in mind, constructability also improves significantly

Traditionally, yachts are built like ”Isaac’s church.” However, this does not mean that the vessel cannot be built practically and still achieve an improved, higher level of quality.

For new buildings, Propulsion House offers solutions that simplify construction and design, which are particularly useful when space is limited. The best time to utilize our services is when GA design is initiated or when there is a need for improvement. The best solution is not always the most expensive solution.

Refit projects allow us to offer completely new possibilities, which we can adapt to the existing hull and layout in conjunction with the shipyard’s preliminary design. In one example project, we examined a 45-meter yacht, where our solution freed up 52 square meters of space and reduced weight by 24 tons compared to a similar diesel-electric podded propulsion solution.
